Social Security Take A Stand Initiative
Changing the Dialogue on Social Security Through Informed Discussion and Creative Thinking!
Take A Stand - Social Security Matters!
It is no secret that Social Security reform is needed. For many seniors, Social Security is 90% of their monthly retirement income, which is why we are working with libraries, faith base organizations and senior community centers throughout the nation to educate seniors about the current health of the Social Security Trust Fund and the challenges facing Social Security's ability to pay benefits in the future.
Through education and preparation our seniors have been very instrumental in helping their children and grand grandchildren be more responsible when it comes to saving for their future.
The Take A Stand Social Security Matters Tour also highlights benefits that seniors may qualify for but are unaware of like:
- Low Income Subsidy (LIS) which provides prescription
drug cost reductions, and
- Medicare Savings Plan which provides help with paying parts A and B premiums.
No one can control what lawmakers do (or don't do) to patch up the Social Security program, but an educated public can control how they prepare for the consequences of any adjustment they make.
